The woman was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she was referred to a private hospital and later to Khurda hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries on December 23, 2022.

The case was registered by the Kabisurya Nagar police, who arrested the accused, along with his mother and two sisters, for their alleged involvement in the crime.
