Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign in New Tehri: Celebrating Patriotism and Unity
In the picturesque town of New Tehri, a two-day programme was held to promote the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, a nationwide initiative to celebrate Independence Day with patriotic fervour. The Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Dehradun, under the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, organized the event to spread awareness about the campaign and inspire citizens to participate with zeal.
Inaugurating the Photo Exhibition
The programme began with the inauguration of a special photography exhibition, a key component of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign. State Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi officially launched the exhibition, which showcased the story of India’s freedom movement and the evolution of the national flag. The exhibition featured topics such as Har Ghar Tiranga, Vande Mataram, and Vibhajan Vibhishika, highlighting the importance of India’s history and freedom struggle.
The Tiranga Rally: A Symbol of Unity
A Tiranga rally was also conducted as part of the programme, starting from Dev Suman Park. Students from various schools in the Chamba block and locals participated in the rally, which was joined by Additional District Magistrate Shailendra Singh Negi, SDM Kamlesh Mehta, and District Development Officer Mohammad Aslam. The officials encouraged the students to participate in the Har Ghar Tiranga programme and emphasized the need for responsible citizenship.
Celebrating Patriotism through Student Competitions
Students also took part in various competitions, including poetry, painting, and poster-making. The winners of these competitions were awarded prizes at a function held during the programme. Aakriti emerged as the winner in the poetry competition, while Avantika and Pratima Chauhan secured second and third positions respectively. Arum Hussain, Arushi, and Khushi won the top three positions in the painting competition, while Riddhima came first in poster making, with Faiza and Rehanuma securing second and third positions.
Remembering the Partition Tragedy
In a separate exhibition held at Pratap Inter College Tehri, the Information Department organized a display on the Partition tragedy, displacement, and painful memories related to this historic event. The exhibition aimed to promote national unity, integrity, and social harmony. Families who migrated to Tehri from Pakistan due to Partition were honoured by Ganesh Joshi with shawls, a gesture of appreciation for their bravery and resilience.
