The day was filled with patriotic fervour, solemnity, and collective participation as people from all walks of life gathered to commemorate the nation&#8217;s freedom.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nagaland University: A Day of Reflection and Inspiration<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At the Nagaland University headquarters in Lumami, the celebration began with the hoisting of the National Flag at Rajiv Gandhi Park. Prof. Jagadish K. Patnaik, Vice-Chancellor, delivered a thought-provoking address, reflecting on the meaning of independence. He emphasized that independence is not just about freedom but also about the opportunity to access resources and contribute to economic development. Prof. Patnaik highlighted India&#8217;s achievements in technology and space exploration, while stressing the need to bridge the rural-urban divide to achieve the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sainik School Punglwa: A Celebration of Patriotism and Resilience<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At Sainik School Punglwa, principal Col (Dr) Smita Misra unfurled the national tricolour, accompanied by cadets Ajano Z. Tungoe, Arju, Aryan Sinku, and Shanchothung Ngullie. Cadets Vachan Kanth and K. Tanveesh delivered speeches in English and Hindi, urging commitment to Viksit Bharat 2047. The principal paid homage to freedom fighters and soldiers, highlighting constitutional values and appreciating the resilience of cadets and staff.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Veterinary College Jalukie: A Day of Cultural Performances and Patriotism<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At Veterinary College Jalukie, faculty, staff, and students celebrated the day with flag hoisting, cultural performances, and patriotic activities. The programme commemorated the sacrifices of freedom fighters and reaffirmed values of unity, democracy, and national integrity. Special emphasis was laid on youth participation, innovation, and nation-building, with citizens renewing their commitment to contribute towards a stronger and self-reliant India.<\/p>\n<p><strong>155 Battalion CRPF: A Parade of Discipline and Patriotism<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At Niuland Parade Ground, the 155 Battalion CRPF participated in the Independence Day parade with enthusiasm and patriotic spirit. The contingent saluted the National Flag, showcasing discipline and ceremonial pride. Dr. Satyaveer Singh Verma, Commandant, 155 Bn CRPF, along with senior civil administration officials, graced the occasion.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Vivekananda Welfare Foundation: Celebrating Independence through Education<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In Dimapur, Vivekananda Welfare Foundation (VWF), in collaboration with the Lions Club of Dimapur Blue Venda, celebrated Independence Day with the children of Pratibha, its flagship educational initiative for underprivileged and school-dropout children. Organised under the Lions Club&#8217;s motto &#8220;Serve the Future&#8221; and initiative &#8220;Ek Kaushish- Nurturing Future &amp; Inspiring Freedom,&#8221; the programme reflected the spirit of freedom while investing in education and dignity.<\/p>\n<p><strong>EDUCEN Nagaland: Honouring Freedom Fighters and Inspiring Youth<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At Chatteswary Durga Bari Club, Dimapur, EDUCEN Nagaland organised a programme to honour the sacrifices of freedom fighters and inspire the younger generation towards nation-building. Over 40 participants, including students, members of EDUCEN, office bearers of the Chatteswary Durga Puja Committee, and local residents, attended the event.<\/p>\n<p><strong>NEISSR Peace Centre: Celebrating Independence with a Focus on Youth<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At NEISSR Peace Centre, Ch\u00fcmoukedima, the institute celebrated Independence Day under the theme &#8220;Yuva Shakti for Viksit Bharat @2047&#8221; (Youth Power for a Developed India). Dr. Fr. C.P. Anto, principal, reflected on the deeper meaning of freedom, stating that independence should not be understood merely as freedom from colonial rule but also as freedom for peace, justice, human dignity, service, and the common good.<\/p>\n<p><strong>International University, Nagaland: A Celebration of Freedom and Responsibility<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At International University, Nagaland (IUN), registrar Dr. Roopam Bachhil hoisted the National Flag, followed by the National Anthem. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Bachhil highlighted the significance of freedom and the responsibility of educational institutions and students in contributing to nation-building through knowledge, integrity, and responsible citizenship.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ram Janaki Higher Secondary School: A Celebration of Patriotism and Unity<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At Ram Janaki Higher Secondary School, the celebration began with the hoisting of the National Tricolour by the principal, accompanied by the singing of the National Anthem. The programme was observed under the dual theme &#8220;Yuva Shakti for Viksit Bharat @2047&#8221; (Youth Power for a Developed India) and &#8220;150 Years of Vande Mataram.&#8221; The event featured a disciplined parade, soulful patriotic songs, speeches, dances, and cultural presentations by students, all coordinated by the school authority, teaching staff, and
