In a momentous occasion, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann laid the foundation stone of the Sri Guru Ravidass Ji Bani Adhyayan Centre at Dera Sachkhand Ballan in Jalandhar. The ceremony was attended by prominent members of the Sant Samaj, including Padam Shri Sant Niranjan Dass Ji of Dera Sachkhand Ballan, Sant Pargat Nath Ji of Bal Nath Ashram, and others.
A Tribute to Sri Guru Ravidass Ji Maharaj
The Centre is being developed as a major institution for Adhyayan into the life, philosophy, and sacred Bani of Sri Guru Ravidass Ji Maharaj. The project, spread over 10.4 acres, will have a three-storey Administration and Teaching Block, three-storey boys’ and girls’ hostels, and a two-storey building for teachers and staff. The Centre will provide a dedicated space for children, students, and research scholars to study the life, Bani, philosophy, and teachings of Sri Guru Ravidass Ji Maharaj and undertake research that carries the light of his wisdom and message across the world.
A Commitment to Education
Speaking on the occasion, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann emphasized the importance of education in empowering future generations and building a prosperous Punjab. He highlighted the state government’s efforts to provide equal opportunities to children, ensuring that they get the same opportunities to excel as anyone else. The Chief Minister also mentioned the state government’s initiatives to transform schools into Educational hubs, where students can receive quality education.
Celebrating the 650th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidass Ji Maharaj
The Centre’s foundation stone was laid as part of the Punjab Government’s year-long celebrations of the 650th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidass Ji Maharaj. The government has earmarked ₹100 crore for the celebrations, which include screening documentaries on Guru Ji’s life, philosophy, and teachings in 13,000 villages across 23 districts through 50 mobile vans.

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann highlighted the teachings of Sri Guru Ravidass Ji Maharaj, who raised a powerful voice against caste discrimination and social inequality. Guru Ji’s vision of an egalitarian society continues to inspire generations, and the state government is committed to carving out an egalitarian society as envisioned by Sri Guru Ravidass Ji Maharaj.

The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of spreading the message of Guru Ji across the globe. He said, “It is our collective duty to spread the message of Guru Ji across the globe. Sri Guru Ravidass Maharaj Ji had envisioned an egalitarian society free from any sort of discrimination and year-long events have been chalked out to celebrate the 650th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidass Ji Maharaj.”
