A First-of-Its-Kind Festival for Universal Welfare
In a significant development, the Kolanubharathi Temple, a subordinate shrine of the revered Srisailam Devasthanam, is all set to host its maiden ‘Shakambari Utsavam’ on Friday, August 7. This grand celebration is being organized for the universal welfare and global prosperity of the devotees. The temple’s administration, led by Temple Trust Board Chairman Pothugunta Ramesh Naidu and Executive Officer (EO) M Srinivasa Rao, made the announcement at a media briefing on Wednesday.

The Shakambari Utsavam is a traditional festival that dates back to ancient times. As part of the elaborate Shakambari Alankaram, the presiding deity will be decorated with a vibrant array of leafy vegetables, fresh garden produce, and seasonal fruits. The temple management has highlighted that the festival is being conducted for the first time at the shrine, and the local devotees and philanthropic donors are actively supporting its execution.
Community Support and Philanthropy
Under the guidance of Trust Board member Chittibotla Bharadwaja Sharma, donors are supplying the required volume of organic produce and floral materials needed to adorn the sanctum. The temple management has expressed gratitude to the donors for their generous support, which has made the festival possible. The community’s involvement in the festival’s execution is a testament to the temple’s strong bond with its devotees.
Festival Schedule: A Day of Spiritual Significance
The festival schedule has been outlined by the temple authorities, and devotees are in for a treat. The day will begin with Suprabhata Seva at 5:30 AM, followed by specialized morning rites from 6:00 AM to 7:30 AM. General Darshan and paid Arjitha Sevas will be open to pilgrims from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Midday rituals and Maha Nivedana will take place between 12:30 PM and 1:00 PM, followed by an afternoon recess. Public Darshan will resume at 2:30 PM and continue until 5:00 PM, after which final evening pujas will be performed before temple closure.
