Land Row Escalates: BRS Leaders Storm PM Ekta Unity Mall
Hyderabad, August 10, 2024 – A tense standoff unfolded near the PM Ekta Unity Mall in Raidurgam on Wednesday, as BRS activists, led by MLCs Dasoju Sravan and Shambhipur Raju, barged into the construction site despite heavy police presence.
A Stormy Afternoon at Malkham Cheruvu
The BRS leaders had arrived at the construction site near Malkham Cheruvu, where the PM Ekta Unity Mall is being built. The area was heavily barricaded, with police personnel deployed to maintain order. However, the party workers, undeterred by the police presence, managed to gain entry into the premises.
Allegations of Corruption and Land-Grabbing
Speaking to the media later, Dasoju Sravan alleged that the state government is being run by a “gang of looters” who are engaging in rampant corruption. He claimed that corrupt officials are handing over valuable lands to private entities for free, siphoning off the wealth accumulated over generations for reckless commercial ventures.
Valuable Land at Stake
Sravan pointed out that the land near Malkham Cheruvu is valued at a staggering Rs 250 crore per acre. The site where the Ekta Mall is being built spans seven acres, translating to a value of Rs 1,700 crore. He alleged that the government has handed over this land to Vamsiram Builders and Aparna ‘Lead the Future’ companies, without any consideration.
Exposing Irregularities
Shambhipur Raju, another BRS leader, said that they had come to expose the irregularities in the land allocation process. He claimed that the government has handed over six acres of land to two private individuals, without any transparency or accountability.
A Fight Against Corruption
Raju stated that they will continue to fight against the Congress government’s land-grabbing activities. He mentioned that KTR has already exposed the land allocations made to the Tesseract Company and the illegal allocation of land in Raidurgam. The BRS leaders are determined to bring the corrupt officials to justice and protect the interests of the people.
A Growing Concern
The land row has been a growing concern in the state, with many citizens expressing outrage over the alleged corruption and land-grabbing activities of the government. The BRS leaders’ actions on Wednesday have only added fuel to the fire, with many calling for a thorough investigation into the allegations.
As the situation continues to unfold, one thing is clear: the people of Telangana will not tolerate corruption and land-grabbing at any cost. The BRS leaders’ fight against corruption has only just begun, and it remains to be seen how the government will respond to the allegations.
